Katharine Kaye McMillan PhD guides people on how to create beautiful, fulfilling, and well-designed lives, homes, and businesses as an author, psychologist, and managing partner at Strahan + McMillan Architecture & Interior Design. She is a Consulting Psychologist, Writer, and Keynote Speaker.
Katharine has coauthored over 13 books on decorating and design, including Home Decorating For Dummies®, Painting Do-it-Yourself For Dummies®, Contemporary Villas, Old Places, New Spaces-San Antonio Style, and “ Christmas At…” and “Christmas By Design” series. She coauthors books with Patricia Hart McMillan, her mother/mentor, and architect husband, David G. Strahan. She is a media spokesperson, keynote speaker, and celebrity and appears at Home & Garden shows nationally and internationally.
As an Organizational Psychologist, she conducts research projects and provides consultation and coaching services to individuals and organizations. She is known for her work on emotional intelligence and mental health and wellbeing. Her creative talents include standup comedy and acting. She made her film debut in the award-winning film "The Discussion" (2011) and currently studies acting for stage and film. Originally from New York, Katharine is a graduate of University of Texas at Austin and earned her doctorate at Florida Atlantic University. She currently resides in San Antonio, Texas.
