San Antonio’s Golden Boy, GOLDEN SKYY, hit a home run with his first solo fashion show, proving that there is an audience in the Alamo City for edgy, audacious designs. His sold out show “AUDACIOUS RESORT” attracted fashionistas and style icons from across the city and featured his unique take on resort-wear.
Models spent the day getting oxygen facial treatments from Bio2 Skin Studio then hair/makeup from Smooth Lines Salon and Spa as well as makeup artist Elizabeth Harrison. In typical Golden Skyy fashion, the show began with the designer stirring up emotions in a motivational speech that had the audience in tears. DJ Catwalk then set the mood for the runway where models from Lari Nelson “The Agency” confidently and boldly strutted flowy, graphic prints from Golden’s custom digital images. Caftans and leggings took center stage and the styles uniquely combined an effortless flow with the strength of high fashion. The show’s much hyped about finale didn’t disappoint as model Kennedy Marie rocked a bold design that included gold cross leggings and a headpiece complete with feathers and a golden skull to pay homage to one of Golden Skyy’s inspirations Alexander McQueen. Not coincidentally, this show took place on the very day of the release of McQueen’s movie.
At the show’s after-party, guests enjoyed Skyy Blue drinks from The Davenport Lounge while they mingled and shared cell phone photos of their favorite runway looks. Many guests held red roses that were handed to them during the models’ final walk where Golden instructed them to always find ways to share love with others. His signature “LOVE WINS” sign was on full display as guests scrambled to get a photo with the designer himself. Love wins and so did this show.
